Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at European University introduced its integrated master’s education program in veterinary medicine starting in the 2022-2023 academic year. This comprehensive five-year program combines educational and scientific research components, with a strong focus on developing transferable skills. The program includes English language courses tailored to students of all proficiency levels, culminating in specialized sector-specific English training.
To assess students’ practical and clinical competencies, the program employs OSPE (Objectively Structured Practical Examination) and OSCE (Objectively Structured Clinical Examination) methods, which are integrated into both preclinical and clinical training courses.
The program places significant emphasis on clinical and industrial practice to achieve its learning outcomes. Clinical practice is conducted in the eighth semester, designed to enhance clinical skills through the application of knowledge from core specialty courses. In the tenth semester, students engage in production practice, gaining hands-on experience in essential veterinary skills such as analysis, information processing, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. This practice also helps develop key professional traits, including purposefulness, initiative, teamwork, leadership, and effective communication with animal owners and colleagues.
The practical components of the program are supported by institutions that have established cooperation agreements with European University, ensuring students receive real-world experience in diverse settings.
A notable aspect of the program is its strong scientific component, which nurtures students’ abilities in selecting research topics, choosing appropriate methodologies, planning and managing research projects, conducting studies, analyzing results, and drawing conclusions. These skills are crucial for producing valuable academic research and advancing in the field of veterinary science.
Graduates of the integrated master’s education program in veterinary medicine are awarded the academic title of “Master of Veterinary Medicine” and are eligible to pursue further studies at the doctoral level. It is important to note that the practice of veterinary medicine is regulated by state authorities, ensuring that graduates meet the necessary professional standards.
This program is designed to prepare highly skilled and competent veterinary professionals, equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise to excel in their careers.
